Religion
The religion and faith formation program is built upon the firm belief that it is within the family that the child’s faith-life must be nurtured if it is to grow. The celebration of the Mass is an important part of the religious education program of Our Lady of Fatima School. All students attend Advent services, Stations of the Cross, and prayer services together as a school community.
Our school’s main purpose is to instruct and guide our students in the doctrines and values of the Catholic faith.  Consequently, we try to create an atmosphere permeated by the cardinal virtues of faith, hope, and love and also to incorporate Catholic values throughout the curriculum.
Each day begins with a scripture passage read over the intercom by the principal, followed by morning prayers in the classrooms.  Grace is said before lunch and the school day ends with classroom and school-wide prayer. Students participate in mass once per month, in celebration of major feast days.  Our students are prepared for the sacraments in partnership with their parents who are recognized as the primary teachers.  Reconciliation services are held during Advent and Lent.  During these seasons, students also participate more frequently in prayer services and daily mass.  Each grade level plans and participates in a one-day Lenten retreat.
Religious instruction is treated as an academic subject at all grade levels.  All students learn traditional Catholic doctrine, history, and tradition during a scheduled period each day.  Each year, the Family Life Program is taught as one unit of the curriculum.  We strive to present a holistic approach to the understanding of human sexuality and respect for all life, in accordance with Catholic values.
An understanding of service to others is also an important part of our program.  Students participate in a variety of service projects throughout the school year and are taught to regard these as concrete expressions of their faith.  We choose both local and international projects to raise students’ awareness of the problems of world poverty.
