| All classrooms at Our Lady of Fatima School are connected to the school's network. This includes the school office, religious education office, library and computer lab. A T1 cable line provides high-speed internet access to the school. Most classrooms have 3 PC's and at least one printer, though some have more based on need and as space allows. All PC's have Microsoft Office installed as well as the Accelerated Reader, Accelerated Vocabulary, Star and Microsoft Publisher programs. Students can access the library software automation program to research available material from any computer in the main building. There are scanners located in the library, the computer lab and an 8th grade homeroom. Thanks to grant money, each grade level now has their own digital camera for a total of 10. Teachers can use these and 1 video camera for classroom projects, experiments, field trips, and for the yearbook. TVAtors
are available for teachers to use to project any web-based application
or lesson onto their classroom television. Our Lady of Fatima has an Acceptable Use Policy which is distributed at the beginning of each school year. Each student, parent and faculty member is required to sign the AUP contract to indicate that they understand the guidelines and accept responsibility for following the rules. These are kept on file in the computer lab. If the form is not signed, the child or faculty member will not be able to utilize technology at the school. |
